I’ve tried the virus software and ad-aware scans, the search-and-destroy bots, shredders and manual key registry adjustments. Nothing works—nothing.

So instead of fighting the damn thing, I downloaded the open-source browser Mozilla. I’m getting the hang of it. I like it. It has neat features. It doesn’t crash, and tabbed browsing is pure genius. But deepsicks, on the other hand… looked like hell. So maybe deepsicks coding isn’t all that keen because I’m a total hack. We get by. …Or so I thought. If IE is the mamsy freshman comp teacher, Mozilla is the 8xxx level professor ready to make cerebral incisions and unveil to all the shortcomings of the ignorant. Observe:

Deepsicks: Hi. Um… I don’t know much about stuff, but I try real hard. So I was like, um. I stole some code this one time and just made it do the things I wanted it to do and I pasted it everywhere I needed it and things look cool ’cause it’s like math, right? It’s like logic and WYSIWYG… right?

Internet Explorer: (Examines source) What I think deepsicks is trying to say is sometimes html conflicts with scripts, especially when you’re not really sure what you’re doing, and that’s okay. We’re all students here, and we’re all teachers, too. What I notice is a clearly improper though well-intentioned and intuitive combination, a fusion of unlike elements. But what I wanted to say is diversity is essential and makes for well-roundedness and cohesion. Deepsicks seems to be trying to attempt to bridge gaps and cross borders. I know what she’s talking about when she tries to right align the dropdown navigation menu. So that’s what I’m going to show.

Mozilla: (Examines source) Yeah, nice try.

Deepsicks: Uh…

Mozilla: And not surprisingly it’s the power structure firmly in place that assuages, consoles, gives the illusion of control and attaches meaning to unintelligent drivel.

Deepsicks: 🙁

Mozilla: *Whomp* 0nw3d!!!

So. I’ve been working on adjusting the out-of-whackness-with-Mozilla with all pages (after learning how to do it, that is). Yes, my scripts and codes still and will forever suck, but with hope users will now have a uniform and eye-pleasing deepsicks experience. Yay.

A couple weeks ago I saw Avenged Sevenfold at the Triple Rock. I first heard of, heard and saw this band last summer at Warped, and they knocked me flat-confused. I pretended for months they were only an anomaly, a guilty pleasure and passing fancy, but nope—I really like this band.

Their energy is killer and catchy and fun; combined with comicbook evil and hey—talent—they’ve proven their worth and earned a wide slot in my music rotation. The show was particularly nice because I hadn’t, er, done that sort of thing in awhile—gone to a show and got sin-cerely crazy. I leapt spun shoved and earned the grim respect of hardcore dancers (oh dear god, please don’t murder me!!!). I even head-banged.

In other news, there is no other news. Been sick lately: headachy, fatigued and nauseated for no reason. Been working through mild schizophrenia and other strains of personal incongruity. << WYSInotWYG >> And such. Yeah. Fake has a couple shows coming up in Fargo—info on that soon.

Oh, and about the new header (hee)—those are Anna’s clothes, not mine 😉 Laundry hanging outside makes me happy. Praise the changing weather, the settling spring and summer on heels. And happy thoughts to the Christians (the ones who aren’t wacko—I know you exist) celebrating the resurrection of their zombie lord. I like zombies, too.

My Internet Explorer has been hijacked by some crap bogus-link search engine that continually changes my homepage.
